Ultrasonic sensor SU/IR (50 - 100)

The ultrasonic sensor offer the best technical solution when reading the position of the web edge.

Their main characteristic is that they can be used for all types of materials, either opaque or completely transparent. They are not influenced by brightness of working conditions (light or dark) and with photo sensitive material.

Thanks to their versatility the ultrasonic sensors guarantee very high productivity, which dramatically decreasing the machines down time and also reducing the amount of material rejected due to the guide error.

The range of proportional readout of this sensor is 16 mm, a value is higher than that usually available in the marketplace. The readout accuracy is 0,1 mm.

Principle of functioning
The SU sensors read the edge of the material thanks to use of ultrasonic waves. The transmitter emits resonant waves that are partially reflected by the material.

The receiver calculates the difference between the emitted and the received waves, and this difference defines with extreme precision the position of the
edge of the web.
