The mechanical chucks representing the serie A, S, and SM work by distortion (for both distortions), i.e. they work with a jacking force is proportional to the torque.

To minimise the wear we use hardened steel and additionally our mechanical chucks are finished with a special surface protection against oxidation.

This is to ensure even at low torques or reel weights the expansion process of the expanding jaws.

All chucks representing the serie A, S and SM are maintenance free.

Serie A
Compact and short design; they are best suited where space is limited. Forced retraction of the gripping jaws.

Serie S
Ensured operation even at low torques or reel weights. This series is available to accomodate core I.D. from 70 mm up to 300 mm

Serie SM
The chucks of our serie SM are available with a slip-on-adapter made from aluminium. This chuck is one of the more versatile configurations which allows for quick changes among a variety of core sizes.

These chucks feature all the advantages of our normally mounted chucks but are best suited where changes of core sizes are frequent.
